Anyone who knows my mother, don't worry. I have already addressed her about the stress she is causing me. On Sunday my stress level reached an all time high, and I realized it wasn't my fault, but my mother's! I was trying to sew Easter outfits for my 2 children, and I realized then and finally came out with it in the open, (although, I have known subconsciously for a long time) I hate sewing, but I do it on the fact that I loved my mother sewing for me. I have the fondest memories of wanted to go to a church dance and decided 2 hours before that I wanted a new skirt. Two hours later I was always on my way to the church dance with a new skirt. I really can't express how much I loved my mother's sewing abilities and all the things she has made me.
Now here I am wanting to give my children the same joy I had in my youth, so I turned to what I loved and am trying to do that for my children. The truth is I am a terrible seamstress and sewing just causes me a lot of stress. For example I made Helaman a little Easter jacket. I found the cutest pattern at the DI which was made in 1969. I unpicked the collar 10 times, cut out 2 different pieces because I messed up, and the jacket now has no collar. Cariña's dress I had to redo the zipper, the hem around the waist, recut the sleeve, and the lining, unpick the sew-on facing several times. I don't know why I get myself into these projects, but actually I do. It is like I said I want to give my children what my mother gave me and I just can't do it!! :) So we will see about next Easter. I just might have to finish these project or give up for good. :) Pictures are to come once I finish the detailed work like the buttons, and shorts, etc, and as soon as I can find someone to put them on a cd so I can download them to my computer.
ps You know I love you mom.

Cariña
I love my daughter. I better, the job of a mother is to love her children. But I can tell you this, I love her, but she sure knows how to drive me crazy, but before we go there here are some pictures of the great things that she is and does.
First she is so cute. I love this picture of her in her fairy costume. I have to give credit where credit is due, the first reason why she is so cute is the genetics from her dad. She got all of his great features like dark eyes, and black, long curly eyelashes. To be honest though I hope she doesn't get his eyebrows. :) Boys can get away with uni-brow, but not girls. :) Second, her first cousin once removed, Tiffany, bought her HER DREAM costume.
She is such a good sport. On Christmas Eve she wore her new Christmas PJs with such enthusiasm that it made me happy. She has since not enjoyed wearing them except to match Helaman. :) This is one thing that drives me absolutely crazy is that she wants what everybody else has. She does it all the time with food and I can't stand it. "Helaman has more than me!" She will say this often and it is usually true because she never eats her food EVER!!!! It is always a big fight. Ps I made the PJs.
She is such a cute dancer. I think the video shows you more than I can write.
Can you see what is different about Cariña. Yep, we cut her bangs. It was pretty funny because she decided that she wanted bangs, but she didn't know what they were called. She came up to me a couple times and pointed to her dolls and said something like, see how their hair is like this, while pointing to their bangs. :) So I asked her one day if she wanted her hair like that and she did, so we cut them.
1.Other things that I love about Cariña is that she is a fantastic colorer. She has been able to color in lines since she was 2. She cuts on the lines when she uses scissors. She has great hand dexterity.
2. She loves classical music. She calls it little girl music, and she hates her dad's hip hop. What a good girl.
The thing that drives me crazy every time is her eating. I will give you an example of what I go through every day at every meal, and I am not kidding. The other day I made porridge with peaches. It was quite good. Helaman loved it, but for some reason Cariña just didn't want to eat it. She cried and sat at the table for at least an hour. Finally I got her to eat half of it before we had to leave for the chiropractor. As soon as we entered the car and were buckled, mind you 5 minutes after she is at the table, she says "Mom, I'm hungry, I can't wait until we get home so I can eat my porridge." I about lost it. Like I said it is like this at every meal. She is going to be the death of me yet, but I still love her and am so glad she is with us.

I almost died!!!!!
So tonight I quickly got my two children in bed so that I could veg on the couch and watch TV. I am completely addicted. I need cable off my TV. To be honest we are not suppose to have cable, but it is there. So I have become addicted. As children we didn't have cable, we didn't even get ABC, NBC, etc. On occasion we got PBS and got to watch Where in The World is Carmen San Diego, and Math Net but I mean not often. So tonight when I turned on the TV I couldn't get cable. It was gone. Embarrassingly enough when I found out I couldn't get my Friday night fix, my heart started racing. I know this is ridiculous, but what am I going to do without my reality TV.
Well good news, I figured out what was wrong and I have my cable back. It would be better for me not to have it, I know! Let's be honest here, How pathetic am I?
As I was thinking, (that is the only thing to do when there is no tv), I was contemplating whether I should order cable or not. I knew the answer but was seriously doubting myself. The truth is I would not pay money for cable, but to be completely honest I would have some pretty serious withdrawals for a couple of weeks. Wow, how many times can I say how pathetic I am!
ps Reality TV equals, (to me), What Not to Wear, Supper nanny, The Apprentice, HCG (the house channel), and The biggest loser. Not the other terrible ones.

shopping
Yesterday I went shopping at a new store in Provo/ Orem area, Sunflower farmer's market. It is a cross between a conventional grocery store and a health food store. On Wednesday they have double ad day where both the new and old ads are still good. This trip seems to be an especially good. Here is a list of what I bought.
4+lbs of chicken legs
1.6 lbs of fresh made organic chicken sausage
organic celery
organic head of red leaf lettuce
10 grapefruit
1 cantaloupe
2 lbs of asparagus
Can you guess how much I spent?

IT'S TRUE, IT'S TRUE!!!!!
It is true we have our trailer back. It is safely tucked away at my wonderful aunt's house, far away from our house. It was returned on Sunday. Sam went outside to put the kids in the car to go to church and there is was. It was obviously used and not well taken care of but who cares we have it back.

What more pictures?
Here are more pictures. They are from the past year. With the USB port problem I just haven't put up all the pictures I wanted to, so here they are a bit late.

This picture is our family Christmas picture. We were able to take it only because the Aaronic priesthood came over for fast offerings. :) Anyway sorry we didn't get it out for Christmas. (It is pretty pathetic we can't even get it out on our blog for Christmas.!!!)
This is the grooms cake I made for Sam's sister who got married in Aug. The official date was 08/08/08, so that is what we made, an 8. What do you think? Do you think I could be a professional cake decorator. I told Sandra I could make the wedding cake, but she a
lready made plans. I think she didn't know how capable I was and was a little nervous to have me make it. (ps I think my wedding cake would have turned out better than this one. Just kidding. The girl who made the cake has her own business, and is one of Sam's good friends from high school, although mine would have been just as good for sure.) Just a side note, mine definitely tasted better. The funny story is this, when the girl saw my cake and tasted it she said, "if you lived by me, your good enough I could hire you to help me." My prideful side again came out and I thought, "whatever, I could hire you to help ME out!" I guess I need to take these comments as a compliment rather than competetiveness. :) OPPS. :) Anyway the cake was a chocolate cake with peanut butter filling, cream cheese frosting with the fudge dribbles. It was Delicious!!!!!!

These next couple of pictures are of the kids in their wedding outfits. Sam's sister Lorena got married in December. We made it to the wedding in Aug, but had no idea of the possibility of another wedding. Well there is no way that we could make it to this one, so what I did was have my mom make wedding outfits for the kids. Then I had Sam's parents, who are sign makers, blow it up and make the kids full size and make cut outs of them. To be
honest I don't know how they turned out because the newlywed hasn't contacted us since before the wedding.

This one is the kids on our coolest motorcycle. We need to teach them young, but I guess we will have to wait until they can reach the handle bars.
This is Helaman after a bath. I wrapped him in a towel, but he couldn't walk very well and he fell over. Since his arms were also tucked in his towel he couldn't catch himself. He ended up face planting into the carpet. Poor kid, but it was funny because when he stood up he had a sequin on the very end of his nose. What luck. I guess the moral of the story is don't wrap you children's arms in a towel.
This is Cariña batman. Helaman got a bat man house as a gift. It is pretty cool, but the shell of the house is made out of that stinky plastic. The only opening was a small window that was more towards the roof, and the door that was just a slit in the plastic. I was a little nervous letting the kids play in the house breathing all the fumes so I cut a couple of extra windows. One window was just a square that I strategically placed lower to the kid's face and the other one I had the big idea to cut out batman's face. It turned out pretty funny.
Cariña decided that she wanted to sleep on a suitcase. I have no idea why, but this is how I found her when I went to check on her. If you ask me she looks really uncomfortable. You can't tell but the picture but she had to tuck her legs to the side so they wouldn't fall off. I wonder where they get they get these ideas.
