Adventures!!

What is life without a few adventures, right!  I say adventures because I will take these difficulties that we have been having over some harder trials!!!  If I have to be poor with broken cars for the rest of my life but have my family with me I will take it. :)

Adventure #1  Remember our blue buick that we bought in the summer of 2010.  Well that car has been causing me stress since we bought it.  We had to change 3 sensors $60-$100 apiece and a new starter.  Then on top of all that we had the manifold EXPLODE, yes I said explode.  So it has been sitting on the curb at my in-laws for the last 2 months.  That has left us to drive our brown car which has a broken engine.  Lately I have been smelling fluids burn that aren't suppose to be burning. :)  They smell toxic.  So time for another new used car.

#2 On Monday morning I felt like I smelled gas.  Almost all of our appliances are gas.  It was faint, and I couldn't decided if I should call the gas company.  Well I decided that I needed to, so I did.  They came out, found a leak on my stove then found a bigger leak on my dryer.  They turned off those appliances.  They then did a meter test but it still failed.  So they went outside and found a old pipe that had a leak too. Who knows how long this pipe has been leaking!!!  So they had to turn off the entire line.  I called the landlord who sent his plumber.  The plumber fixed everything except the dryer, he couldn't get back there.  We called the gas company who informed us that they would not turn on the gas until they had a city inspector come out and fax in an okay.  Called the landlord, he called the city, the city had no clue and can't help him.  Monday and Tuesday the landlord worked on getting things organized but the city people didn't know anything so it wasn't until wednesday When they get another plumber who fixed everything  and finally got an order for the city inspector.  Finally, Thursday late afternoon, we got our gas turned on.  So for 4 days no hot water, no cooking and no heater.  It was actually comical!

#3 My dear sweet Xenia got an ear infection a couple of weeks ago.  I didn't know she had one until I saw liquid ooze out of her tiny little ear.   It was so sad to see.  This was again on Monday.  I called her pediatrician no answer.  I left a message, which they NEVER called me back.  I waited.  Tuesday her fever broke and she seemed happier so I thought it will clear up.  Wednesday still oozing,  I am not sure what to do.  It should be healing/  Finally Thursday it is still oozing I call her doctor again, and reception said, "Oh we don't have a doctor in today can we schedule for tomorrow."  "No, I need one today it has been leaking for 4 days now."I said. The reception replied  "Oh, well we can send a car for you and take you to one of our different offices."  What, no thank you.  I called other doctors.  None take our insurance, or they can't get us in until the next day.  REALLY!  WHAT ARE DOCTORS FOR IF THEY CAN'T SEE THE CHILDREN WHEN THEY ARE SICK!!!!!!!  I was slightly frustrated if you can't tell.  Finally I took her to down town in our toxic car 15 miles away because they are the only urgent care that takes our insurance.  On top of everything that day I could only find a parking space a quarter a mile away.  I lugged all four kids a quarter of a mile each way.  The kiddos, by-the-way are such troopers!!

#4 Sam got an infection and I injured my knee, we tried to get into a clinic, but it didn't work out so we went to the poor man urgent care because we don't have insurance yet.  There we waited 7+ hours for them to had over a prescription cream.  For my knee they they said I don't know let's take some blood work.  WHAT!!??  Blood work for a hurt knee.  I was thinking more about an x-ray.  I told her no thank you.  Those blood tests, which were to check to see if my potassium was low, would have added on another 2 hours.  No thank you.  I asked the doctor can I just take some extra potassium and she said, "Oh no, that might not be safe."  At that point I was beyond frustrated.

#5 I now currently have strep throat.  I felt sick, then I felt fine, and now I am starting to feel sick again.  I don't know what to do.  Is it worth it to spend another 7 hours just for some doctor to hand over a prescription.  I don't know!  I took a natural remedy but it is not working.    If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to share your wisdom!

On a much happier note, we have been beyond blessed.  We moved into our own house.  I love it.  But there is so much more to clean now.  I feel like I can't keep up.  Oh well I love it.  We were really blessed to buy a new used car from someone we know AND how can anyone complain when 3 child are having a blast outside in 70 degree weather.

I am not a crafty person.  I just don't enjoy it, but there are times when I come up with some pretty darn good ideas.  All of my good ideas are under the same theme. . . How can I let the kids do art work without me cleaning up.  So here is my idea.  Sidewalk chalk and glitter.  Because the sidewalk is so textured it mostly stays in place for the project, but after word there is no clean up. The art work was so beautiful and sparkly outside and the children loved it.

Xenia was having so much fun on the back and Helaman was having so much fun carrying her around it was so cute to listen to her squeal.

Well, that is just weird because I'm pretty sure America has the best health care in the world and that long and frustrating waits like that only happen in places like Canada.

Don't you wish you could just pop down to Dr. Eric's office in Chaiyi? I've wished that many times.

If you would compile a book on ideas of how to let your kids do crafty fun art project without me having to prepare any materials or clean up I would pay money for it.

I'm so happy for you that you have you own home!! That's wonderful.

I just have to say that I HATE gas appliances. It seems they're always leaking. I get so sick of it at our apartment too.
