Teeth

It is already starting, and I am still not ready!  Helaman lost his first tooth.  It came as a complete surprise.  We were eating dinner and all the of sudden he says he has a loose tooth.  He came over to wiggle it for me and not only is this thing loose, his tooth that has never been noticed, is hanging by not even a thread.  After dinner he said that he wanted Xenia to pull it out.  She has somehow become the official tooth puller.  Out comes the floss, then the fears, the panic, and the tears.  Somehow this behavior drives me crazy.  If they don't want it out, then don't ask.  Anyway, I finally got on the floss on his tooth and Xenia took ahold of the end of the floss, and before we knew it, the tooth was out.  It was so loose that it looked like the floss only slid off of the tooth.  But the tooth just slipped out.

This event has happened much to soon for my calendar.  My first thought was taking him in for an emergency dentist visit, because he is not old enough to loose a tooth.  He is suppose to be my little chubby baby, but alas no. He is five and is a growing boy who eats three eggs for breakfast.  And now he has less teeth to remind me that he is growing up.

I agree: Wait!
Thanks for posting! Helaman is very good-looking, even if he isn't a baby anymore. And you have to admit that if Xenia is old enough to be pulling out people's teeth, she is growing up too.

I keep watching for one of James's teeth to get loose. It was around this age that Kate lost her first tooth. But, it seems that all of James's teeth is are still tightly connected. To be honest, I'm unsure how James will take losing a tooth. He might be happy or terrified. We'll see...

Wow, your kids are growing up fast! Funny story too! I love Helaman's toothless smile.
I've had a few kids come into the office with loose teeth like that and I had to to hold their teeth in place while cleaning them because they did not want them out. It's crazy. Glad he was brave! I was impressed that Xenia pulled it! Maybe she'll go into Dentistry :)
