9 years in the trenches

Yes, it is our anniversary.  It has been nine years.  It was pretty anti-climactic as Sam had to work all day, I had to work all day, and I am on a restricted diet for the next two weeks.  We decided that we would hold off on the celebration activities until I can eat normal again.  We all know that Sam's and I's relationship is based on eating.

We, also, all know that the  three greatest accomplishments that come from our marriage are two fiery  girls and one sweet boy.  At some point in the evening we told the kids it was our anniversary.  They were so excited and sweet.  They cleaned my kitchen for my present (or tried, until they broke a $60 bottle, details later) Then they declared and prepared a special family home evening with presents.

Pictured are our gifts.  A despicable me movie gift card.  This was given to Cariña for a birthday present years ago in Provo from a friend.   She told us that it is not hers anymore, but now ours.  There is a couple of dollars left on it.  Apples for me because of my diet and a small bag of m&am for Sam.  These were tucked away in the cupboard, and last but not least, a dollar they found by the computer.

Can you ask for anything sweeter?  I think not!

Teeth

It is already starting, and I am still not ready!  Helaman lost his first tooth.  It came as a complete surprise.  We were eating dinner and all the of sudden he says he has a loose tooth.  He came over to wiggle it for me and not only is this thing loose, his tooth that has never been noticed, is hanging by not even a thread.  After dinner he said that he wanted Xenia to pull it out.  She has somehow become the official tooth puller.  Out comes the floss, then the fears, the panic, and the tears.  Somehow this behavior drives me crazy.  If they don't want it out, then don't ask.  Anyway, I finally got on the floss on his tooth and Xenia took ahold of the end of the floss, and before we knew it, the tooth was out.  It was so loose that it looked like the floss only slid off of the tooth.  But the tooth just slipped out.

This event has happened much to soon for my calendar.  My first thought was taking him in for an emergency dentist visit, because he is not old enough to loose a tooth.  He is suppose to be my little chubby baby, but alas no. He is five and is a growing boy who eats three eggs for breakfast.  And now he has less teeth to remind me that he is growing up.

pictures

The first few pictures were suppose to be for my Christmas card.  Now before anyone thinks, hey where is my Christmas card, don't worry.  No one received a card.  For those who sent me one, I was so very grateful, and you were on my wall until about April, so don't take me off your list just because I am lame!
These are the Christmas PJs that I made for Christmas.  I even finished them before the 24th.  (That is huge for me.

Cariña takes such good care of her little sister.  Whenever Xenia is in trouble, her big sister always comes to her rescue.  They both think Sam and I are monsters.

These two are never ending friends.

The truth is I cannot resist this sweet face.

Such a cute picture idea.  If only we would have picked up the room before.

What a funny kid.

Again who could resist this face.

I was not happy with me in the family picture, therefore this is it!

Cariña looks so cute in these.

Xenia did steal the show.

I can't believe she was bawling before these pictures.

I love this picture.
No this is not texas.
Can you find any more apathetic children.
They are closer in height than they appear in this picture.  Cariña's shoes put her over the edge.

They really do play so well together.

more classic songs

Xenia has also made her way on to my top 3 singers.  Sorry about all the laughing, but who can help it when she is growling the happy b-day song.

Here is another song favorite that only Helaman can make better!  His singing makes me giggle.

Then there is my beautiful Cariña performing a poem that she has written by herself.  It really is a cute poem.

Now can you imagine what our family home evening song time sounds like.  The truth is, it is pretty bad!! and sometimes I can't help but giggle through the entire song.

Pictures

I am not a picture person.  For example I didn't take ANY pictures for this past Halloween.  I mean really, how lame can I get, but I guess we don't really need to go there because I don't want to hear how lame I can get.

Well here a  few pictures that I promised my mom.

 Cariña in her birthday dress.

Xenia in her Birthday dress.

 Helaman just looking handsome.

Group shot.

Craft I am making for the sunbeams.

Cariña of course had to go overboard.  But it is cute.

This is the hair I have to deal with!

song

Helaman is so adorable singing this song.  After watching this video you will find out that Helaman has no hope for a singing career in the near future, but you will also find out how much he loves, loves this song.  He is my little courageous boy.
